A few days before Thanksgiving, we got together with his Best Friend Bo and we decorated with Thanksgiving stickers. I love watching these two work together.
Later that night, we got together with some families from our church and had a delicious dinner made by our host and decorated Gingerbread houses. These houses where fun to make and Brian was COVERED with chocolate frosting at the end.
His Gingerbread house! He was quite proud. He did it mostly himself and with little help. Ahhh, he is getting too old!
We had been so busy lately with SO many things that Saturdays, our usual day for yard work, has been skipped over. So, no raking leafs means making snow angels with leafs! He loved it. He spent a good 2 hours outside and when we came in he commented on what a fun time he had outside. I love how he expresses gratitude so often.
Thanksgiving Eve day was spent at the park. It was his choice of activity and plus, I was trying to tire him out. He ended up taking a 3 hour nap that day! It gave my Mom and I time to make the pies :)
The day after Thanksgiving, we went with My Mom and family to a Christmas Tree farm to cut a tree and take a sleigh ride. They had this little photo opt in the front of the farm and I could not resist! I love having keepsakes like this. He was reaching for me for help to get him off since the sun was in his eyes.
The sleigh ride. His Gaga told him how we would go on one the day after Thanksgiving and he was so excited. He remembered it from Christmas books and waited his turn.

As soon as we got off the ride, Brian ran over to this tree and said "Look Mom, a mouse hole." I thought that was a pretty neat observation that he made. We had a long conversation about that mouse hole!

The day after Thanksgiving, we drove all the way to VT to see the Joseph Smith Birthplace. Andy had never been before and they where putting on a live Nativity, so we thought it would be a good family activity. It was incredible and really got you in the holiday mood. We where able to have a devotional, see the Christmas lights come on and witness a live Nativity that Brian LOVED. Such a good time. Here is Brian in front of the monument outside that is a foot tall for every year that Joseph Smith was alive.

After the live Nativity, all the kids could go and interact with all the characters. Brian was quite interested in the baby Jesus and kept stroking his head.

When we got home, we let him decorate the tree. He took this job seriously. We got married in December, and all the guest brought a Christmas ornament and it was fun to see him decorate with those. This boy sure loves Christmas.
