We have the tradition of allowing a doughnut on his birthday and waking him up with a silly string attack. He never fails, he loves it.
We always decorate with streamers leading down to our living room. Seeing his face and how much he loves it makes all the effort worth it.
His first present was a stuffed animal from his beloved stuff animal collection. He loves his stuffed animals and we thought it would be fun to have a gift from them.
Andy set up a scavenger hunt around the town for the days activity. He had to read the clue and then do the task. His first task was to catch a fish and he did! Talk about birthday magic!
Blue gill!
Brian told me he wanted to stay home for his day of birth, but I am SO THANKFUL for friends that had other plans and planned to surprise him on his birthday. His good friend Michael beeped, yelled happy birthday, sprayed him with silly putty and tossed him some neat birthday gifts; legos and a comic book.
His aunt and grandparents set up an obstacles course for the next clue. It led to his Gaga and Papa's house for some Thai food and the big present from theme was a bike!
It was significant seeing as this was his first real, big boy bike. The bike is huge and he looked like a teenager on it.
Balloons where a gift from his aunt. He loved them.
Present time! He was really thankful for the stuff he got. Legos, books and xbox games where the bulk of what he got.
His big gift from us was a Metal detector! He loved it and has put it to very good use.
Somehow it just doesn't feel like your birthday until you blow out the candles.
Our good friends the Nouns came over and sang him a happy birthday and dropped off a treat bag.
His good friend Quinn stopped by with his poster and some cupcakes and said hi! It meant so much to me that he did this.
Now this is where his birthday will be one for the books. Brian often eats dinner at his good friend Dru's house. Brian raves about the pizza his Mom Aimee makes and often gets invited over when she makes it. So, around dinner time we get a homemade pizza delivered to his door from Aimee herself. Brian could not believe it! He was so so so HAPPY.
Dru himself painted and decorated the pizza box himself and helped delivered it.
His good friend Amarah came by with a cute box with rice crispys ( his favorite) and a dollar bill. He loved it.
Thanks you Eamon for the Happy Birhday drive by and honk.
His good friend Colin came by dressed up with balloons and gifts! He got Brian the XBox game he had been wanting. Brian really really was thankful for this gift.
This was a birthday highlight, his good friend Elijah bowled a treat bag across the lawn to him. I could not stop laughing about it.
Brian, a 8 years old....
You amaze me with your empathy for others and how you an read emotions of others.
You are a good friend and always look for ways to include others.
You always seek to do what is right and help others to do the same.
You amaze me at how forgiving you towards others.
I love you Brian! Happy 8th Birthday Son.
