Soccer and Preschool!

One of my goals for the new year was to continue doing  preschool activites with Brian. Although he is still a little young to participate in a formal preschool setting, I thought he would enjoy a "weekly preschool" with friends instead of just me.



Here he is learning about the letter B. Although he is a social boy, it takes some time for him to warm up around his friends. He always bites his bottom lip when he starts a social setting.

 

Getting familiar with tracing letters

When you learn about the letter B you of course have to make Banana Bread. He enjoyed using a butter knife (a rare privilege) to cut up the bananas, measure the flour and stir the eggs.

I LOVE seeing them interact. I would give anything to know what these two found so funny.

We signed Brian up for soccer lessons. We thought it would be a good activity in the winter months. Here he is with his team. He listens pretty well to the teacher when she asks them to sit by the net to wait for the next activity to start. The kids are divided up by age group and lots of time I catch him trying to sneak off to join the older kids game. Ah, he always wants to play with the big kids.

 

 

Brian really likes the beginning of the class where they do all sorts of gross motor activities. His favorite one was trying to tip the cone onto his foot with out using any hands. He also liked hoping through the obstacle course they have.

 

He loves kicking around the ball. He is pretty good about kicking the ball from one end of the field (a small one) to the other. However,When he gets it close to the net, he stops and sets the ball still with his hands and then kicks in it.
