4th of July in Southern Texas!

The 4th of July was a much anticipated holiday this year. My parents flew in for a visit and I made the mistake of telling Brian about 2 weeks before that they where coming. Well, EVERY morning he woke up and would ask and look for them and would get quite upset when he could not find them. It made for a very long 2 weeks. Brian sure did have such a warm greeting for them at the airport!

We spent the weekend of the 4th in Lake Jackson, Texas. It is such a pretty part of southern Texas. We found a beach called Brian's Beach and spent the morning of the 4th hanging out there.

Brian loved the beach and spending time in the water with Gaga and Papa. We got him a bunch of sand toys and he spent quite a bit of time filling up his sand pale with the help of his Papa.

I can't get over how brave and daring Brian is in the water.  I definitely think swimming lessons have helped. I have to watch him extra close seeing as he likes to try and go under a lot.

Andy and I wanted to show my parents Galveston Island, so we went there that evening to watch the parade. My Mom got Brian these little flags that he just LOVED playing with. He loved the parade and made sure he was up close to edge of the road to watch everything go by and wave. Poor boy had HORRIBLE allergies the whole day but was such a trooper!

4th of July magic was defiantly in the air that night! A fire truck was parked right next to where we watched the parade......the nice firemen invited Bri in for a tour and let him try on the hat.

A big part of the 4th was Brian witnessing his very first fire works show. Last year in Boston, it was too hot and too late for him to see them, so we where exited for him to see them this year. As soon as the show started, Brian nuzzled his head in Andy/Papa's shoulders and wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with them. It was just to loud for him. Poor Bubba. Once in a while he would peak out and say hi to his Papa, but that was it. Once we got to the car, he could see the fireworks out the window and he went crazy. He kept saying "Oh...yellow sun booms" or "Oh, sun booms loud." He had fun calling out the colors of the fireworks and talked about the WHOLE way back to the hotel.
