Camping

For Brian's 5th Birthday, we threw him a Camping themed birthday party. He loved it and ever since then he has been begging us to go camping. So the 1st weekend in October, we drove up to VT and camped for the weekend.  We invited my parents and we had a good time. We all enjoyed it so much, that we decided to make it a yearly tradition.

We stayed in cabins with bunkbeds. Annie slept in a pack and play. They both did great. I joked with Andy that we should camp every weekend since the kids sleep so great.

It was a cold weekend. My Mom got Annie this pink bunny suit and it was perfect to keep her warm.

Getting into the food bin.

The campsite/cabins where at the bottom of the hill, so we used this handcart to get back up to the cars or picnic tables. The kids LOVED taking rides in them.

Cooking. Camping food is the best part of camping. Andy planned the meals and they where all Dutch oven (what Andy grew up on) and they where Devine! We included Brian in the food prep and he took it pretty seriously. Man, I have some great memories of cooking with my Dad while camping.

Beating the eggs for Breakfast.

Everyone admiring Andy's mountain man breakfast in the RAIN!!

Ringing the bell for meal time. He loved this part. Papa was happy to help him.

Great Meal!

Walking to church! Brian rode his bike. He LOVED riding it all around the campground.

During some down we visited King Author and warmed up. It was cold outside. It was in the 40's some nights.

The kids in some down time one evening. Brian LOVED sitting in his chair at sundown and watching the sun and drawing in nature journal. He loved being outside in nature.

Sitting by the fire. He kept asking to tell stories.

Dinner was foil dinners.

Lounging out at the main cabin and eating Breakfast. The view was beautiful.

Till next year! We had such a fun time that we decided to make it a yearly tradition!
