Memorial Day 2015

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. Although we didn't get around to putting flowers on graves (our normal tradition) we had a fun and festive time. So grateful we where able to celebrate as a family and teach Brian about this significant holiday.

Our small town puts on a really neat parade each year. This year, Brian was old enough to be able to follow it on his bike. So, that morning we decorated his bike with streamers and flags and set off! He rode the whole way down, the parade route and then home. He napped good that afternoon :)

I think he could have easily blended into the parade.

We ended up running into some Church friends when we got there. Brian had fun watching the parade with his friends. We brought along some small flags and the kids had a blast waving them during the parade.

My Grandparents joined us too! This is a very important event to attend each year for my Papa. Good 4 generations shot!

We all headed to the beach later on. Going to the beach in the early evenings is my favorite time. It was high tide, cool and no bugs. Brian had a blast and was even able to find a crab! We got him to put it in a pail with some water and he kept his eye on it.

Playing catch with my Dad. He is really into balls/sports these days. He always says "OK ready, 1,2,3!" It is either followed by "good catch/better luck next time!"

No beach trip would be complete without asking Gaga and Papa to bury you in sand!

Or swimming! What a good daddy!

We ended the night with some local seafood. What a day! Here he watching the boats in the marshes.
