1st Birthday!

So Brian hit the biggest milestone of his life so far....1st Birthday! I felt like we celebrated his birthday for a whole week! On the morning of his birthday we had a big pancake breakfast-his favorite breakfast food. He ate them for the first time with maple syrup. Then onto the fun stuff...That afternoon we meet up with Amy and Jay for his first ice cream. Up until his first birthday, Brian had no sugar or sweets of any kind, so this was a big deal. At first when Amy offered it to him he pushed it away, but then he caught on quick and would not let it go! It got all over him and made quite the mess... I didn't care though, I wanted him to enjoy it.

After we brought him to a local farm and had a picnic and went to the petting zoo.

He loved feeding the animals and would get so close their faces... He has no fear!

It was so fun watching him chase around the chickens.

Family Shot!

After the zoo we took him to Toys R Us and went shopping. We got him a kitty pool and filled it with balls... he loves it! We ended the night with pizza with the family and cake! He wanted NOTHING to do with the cake... he just wanted the candle! All in all it was a good day and he was able to spend it with family and his great grandparents.

We had his Birthday Party a few days later... it was a Mustache Bash! So the theme was "Little Man Food!"
We decked out the whole back yard with fun mustache decorations such as photo props and fake mustaches and whistles.

We had Bow Ties (pasta salad), babies in a Blanket (mini hot dogs) and for favors-  Mini fish and Walking Sticks (pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate.) We also had mini pulled pork sandwiches and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes.

He could not shove the cupcake in his mouth fast enough!

Brian received many wonderful gifts but I think this one by my parents was his favorite. He will not stop playing with it. All in all is was a great party. We had about 40 people there. It was such a fun day for him. What was the most important event of the day?
Learning to drink through a straw- his new favorite thing!
